Tempo Practice (Beta)
A Max for Live device for improving timing accuracy with visual feedback.

This tool helps you develop tighter rhythm by analyzing how closely your playing aligns with a metronome.

How it works:

• Set a target BPM and adjust audio compensation to account for your audio interface’s latency.
• Start the internal metronome. Play notes on your MIDI device.
• A visual display shows how early or late your input is relative to the beat.
• Practice staying exactly on beat, deliberately late, or intentionally early.

Features:

• Resizable window.
• “Always on top” mode for visibility during practice.

Current limitations:

• Only supports 1/4 note subdivisions (no triplets, 8th/16th notes, etc.).

Known issue:

• Always stop the metronome before changing BPM to avoid timing drift.

Planned updates:

• More subdivisions (8th, 16th notes, triplets).
• Standalone version.
• Gamified “endurance” mode: Set a timing tolerance range (e.g., ±10ms). A timer tracks how long you stay within it.

Requirements:

• Ableton Live 12 with Max for Live.
