Sight Reading Practice (Beta)
A Max for Live device for training note recognition on sheet music.

This tool helps you improve the connection between reading notation and playing the correct pitch on your MIDI instrument.

How it works:

• A staff displays a random note. Play the corresponding note on your MIDI device.
• After playing (correct or incorrect), a new note generates automatically.
• Feedback colors: Correct notes appear green on the staff; incorrect ones turn red.
• Adjust the note range (C1 to C7, etc.) to focus on specific octaves.

Features:

• Resizable window.
• “Always on top” mode to stay visible while working in your DAW.

Current limitations:

• Focuses on pitch recognition only (note durations are not tracked).

Planned updates:

• Standalone version (outside Ableton).
• Improved visual design.

Requirements:

• Ableton Live 12 with Max for Live.
