Chord Practice (Beta)
A Max for Live device for drilling chord recognition and transitions.

Practice identifying and switching between chords fluidly using a dynamic, shifting queue system.

How it works:

• Select chord types to practice: Major, Minor, Major7, 7, Minor7.
• Three chords appear in a queue. Play the leftmost chord correctly to advance the sequence.
• After a correct input, the queue shifts left, discarding the first chord and adding a new random one from your selected types.
• Note indicator: Shows how many correct notes you’ve played for the current target chord.

Flexibility:

• Play chords in any inversion (e.g., root position, first inversion).
• Split notes between hands (e.g., root in left hand, triad in right).
• No duplicate notes: Avoid doubling the root or other chord tones in multiple octaves.

Features:

• Resizable window.
• “Always on top” mode for uninterrupted practice.

Current limitations:

• Only 5 chord types available (expanding soon).

Planned updates:

• More chord types (e.g., diminished, augmented, sus chords).
• Gamified scoring: Earn points based on speed and accuracy of chord chains.
• Standalone version.

Requirements:

• Ableton Live 12 with Max for Live.
